Work Environment

This full-time role is based onsite as part of our home care services, offering a dynamic and flexible work environment where every day presents unique challenges and rewards. You will be part of an interdisciplinary team that values creativity and collaboration, working in diverse home settings throughout Richmond, Virginia, and often in varying conditions tailored to each client's specific needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disability, alleviating pain, and promoting muscle function restoration.
• Oversee and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure the effective execution of therapy plans, maintaining consistent communication about patient progress.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' functional levels through diagnostic and prognostic tests targeting muscles, nerves, and joints.
• Analyze the home environment and make tailored recommendations to enhance clients' independence and functional capabilities.
• Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities such as traction and electrotherapy, ensuring safe and effective treatments are provided.
• Evaluate and recommend prosthetic and orthotic devices, working closely with physicians to ensure optimal patient care.
• Prepare and maintain accurate clinical records, including initial evaluations and progress notes, for compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Actively participate in case conferences and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to plan and evaluate comprehensive treatment for clients.
• Educate clients and families about physical therapy protocols and the proper use of assistive devices, fostering an understanding of their care journey.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clients range from individuals recovering from surgery or injury to those managing chronic conditions. You will engage with diverse populations, including elderly patients, individuals with mobility challenges, and those who require rehabilitation after acute medical events. This role demands empathy and a strong commitment to enhancing patients' lives, prioritizing the needs of both patients and their families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Current valid licensure in the state of Virginia.
• At least one year of relevant experience in either an acute care or home care setting.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
• Demonstrable skills in interpersonal communication, teamwork, and patient engagement.
• Proficiency in understanding and adhering to state and federal regulations governing physical therapy practices.

Preferred Experience

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred, signifying deeper clinical knowledge and expertise.
• Experience working with diverse patient populations, including a strong focus on geriatric care.
• Familiarity with home healthcare operations and the specific challenges that arise within home settings.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 90,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
