As a Mental Health Counselor, you will operate primarily from your home in a remote setting, promoting a flexible work-life balance. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to understand clients' mental health backgrounds and concerns, facilitating the development of tailored treatment plans.
- Provide individual psychotherapy sessions utilizing both teletherapy and in-person options when necessary, employing evidence-based modalities suitable for each client's unique situation.
- Collaborate with clients to establish achievable therapeutic goals, regularly assessing progress and adapting interventions to optimize client outcomes.
- Document consultations, treatment plans, and progress notes in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring adherence to ethical and regulatory standards.
- Participate in continuous professional development, including workshops and training sessions, to enhance clinical skills and stay informed about the latest research and therapeutic practices.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will be working with a varied population of clients facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health issues. Your ability to create a safe and trusting environment will be essential in allowing clients to express their feelings and thoughts openly, contributing to their healing process. Emotional and psychological support will be tailored to accommodate their individual circumstances, ensuring personalized care.
Qualifications
- A current, valid license in the state of Maryland as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Psychologist (PsyD).
- A Bachelor's or higher degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for building rapport and ensuring effective therapeutic relationships.
- Ability to demonstrate empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental approach, fostering a supportive atmosphere for clients.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills that are crucial for effectively managing caseloads and maintaining detailed administrative records.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in outpatient mental health settings, with knowledge of diverse therapeutic modalities.
- Previous experience providing teletherapy and comfort with technology platforms used for virtual counseling.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and documentation practices.
- Proven track record of effective time management and prioritization within a clinical context.
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive yearly salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience and caseload.
