- OB-GYN Residency Faculty Opportunity | Teach, Lead & Practice in Columbus, Ohio

Mount Carmel Health System, one of the largest systems in central Ohio, is actively seeking an OBGYN Residency Faculty physician for our ACGME accredited, joint OBGYN residency program with The Ohio State University. The OBGYN Residency Program is approved for a total of 44 residents. Several OBGYN faculty support the GME program along with Mount Carmel's full coverage Academic OB Hospitalists that provide 24/7 coverage.
The Faculty OB physician actively participates in professional activities related to resident training, both clinical and educational specified by the Program Director or Medical Director. Provides medical/clinical leadership for MCHS OB/GYN clinics and inpatient services to ensure all clinical services are provided in accordance with clinical, hospital, professional and legal standards and function as the attending physician presence at all deliveries, consults and surgeries performed by the Resident Physician on unassigned patients and the OB/GYN Clinic patients or for private patients when the attending physician is unavailable or in an emergency. Participates in teaching residents, medical students, and midwives including but not limited to daily rounds, daily review of plan of care for clinic patients and consults on unassigned patients.
Candidate MUST have:
- Substantial knowledge of and experience in graduate medical education in an ACGME accredited teaching hospital and OBGYN program.
- The ability to communicate effectively with resident physicians, teaching faculty, hospital administration and associates of the Mount Carmel Health System.
- A passion for leadership development and mentoring residents.
- Full and unrestricted practice of license from the Ohio State Medical Board with current OBGYN Board-Certification.
Mount Carmel OBGYN:
Mount Carmel has obstetrics and gynecology at Mount Carmel East, Mount Carmel St. Ann's and Mount Carmel Grove City. Mount Carmel shares an OBGYN residency with The Ohio State University - 44 residents. In addition to providing care to the Columbus underserved community, Mount Carmel manages high-risk pregnancies and has Level III NICUs. Mount Carmel employs MFMs on all three of our campuses.

Mount Carmel Graduate Medical Education educates residents in unique environments involving 3 different hospitals, each serving a distinct patient population, as well as our state-of-the-art simulation center. Mount Carmel Grove City is our flagship training site. Residents rotate within a multitude of environments to provide a broad clinical experience. Mount Carmel Graduate Medical Education currently has five ACGME fully accredited residency programs including: Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, OBGYN, Orthopedics, and General Surgery.
