NOTICE OF FILING
Staff Psychiatrist, Livonia, MI - Conduct psychiatric evaluations, mental status exams, and diagnostic interviews to assess patients' mental health conditions.
Clinical Services Duties and Responsibilities:
- Functions as an attending physician for patients in the Outpatient Clinical Services Program.
- Conducts new patient evaluations, psychotropic medication management, collaboration with other clinicians involved in the patient's care, team conferences, communication with referring providers, and planning/directing family involvement in the patient's care.
- Provides education and training to health professionals within the department and across the hospital system.
- Understands legal issues that affect treatment, including but not limited to child custody, divorce laws, child/adult abuse, duty to warn, recipient rights policies and procedures, alternative treatment orders (ATO's), and the commitment process for inpatient hospitalization.
- Participates in supervision, case reviews, and team meetings with a multi-disciplinary team.
- Treats all patients, families, co-workers, and visitors in a caring and respectful manner, being mindful of everyone's differences, culture, and ethnic diversity.
- Completes patient related documentation in accordance with department and hospital policy, in a timely manner, and with content that is focused on relevant issues.
- Demonstrates complete understanding of, and compliance with, policies and procedures concerning the hospital and department operations.
- Actively participates in meetings and activities as a member of the psychiatry service.
- Performs responsibilities in accordance with SJMHS Service Excellence Standards.
- Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for own professional behavior.
- Identifies and assists in resolution of problems related to safety, sanitation, and maintenance of the environment.
- Maintains confidentiality (hospital, employee, patient, etc.) consistent with department specific and hospital-wide policy, regulatory requirements, and federal law.
- Promotes a positive work environment by demonstrating teamwork.
- Maintains a productivity rate in accordance with department and/or program policy.
- Works with and supports all members of the care team, including APPs and therapists.
M-F, 8am-4:30pm 40 hrs/wk. Salary is from $275,000.00 per/year. Medical doctor degree or foreign equivalent, completion of ACGME-accredited psychiatry residency training. Eligibility for Michigan medical license.
