Work Environment
This full-time position offers the flexibility of a remote work setting, allowing our counselors to connect with clients in a comfortable and convenient manner. You will be conducting most services via telehealth platforms, ensuring that you can reach clients in their home contexts while maintaining accessibility and compliance with healthcare regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed patient assessments and evaluations to understand the mental health needs of clients, crafting individualized treatment plans that reflect their specific challenges and goals.
- Deliver evidence-based mental health counseling services primarily through telehealth, focusing on maintaining therapeutic rapport and providing ongoing emotional support.
- Administer interventions designed for managing trauma and PTSD, employing specialized techniques to assist clients in navigating their experiences and achieving positive outcomes.
- Maintain meticulous and current medical records in accordance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards, ensuring confidentiality and compliance throughout the counseling process.
- Utilize behavior management strategies to empower clients with effective coping techniques, leading workshops or group sessions as appropriate to foster community and peer support.
- Engage in clinical research projects aimed at refining therapeutic methodologies and enhancing both client and organizational outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams consisting of healthcare providers, including physicians, prescribers, and mental health professionals, contributing to comprehensive care for clients.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your focus will primarily be on clients from various backgrounds, including children and adolescents grappling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral disorders. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients, utilizing your clinical skills to foster resilience and recovery in those facing severe mental health challenges.
Qualifications
- A Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling or a closely related field from an accredited institution is required.
- An active Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) licensure in the state of Vermont.
- Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, and mindfulness-based intervention strategies.
- Demonstrated expertise in patient assessments and behavior management techniques necessary for creating effective care plans.
- Proficiency with telehealth services and technology, ensuring seamless client access to mental health resources.
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of two years of direct counseling experience in a clinical or community health setting.
- A background in clinical research, contributing to the advancement of treatment practices and methodologies.
- Experience working with children and adolescents, particularly in managing trauma-related issues.
Compensation and Benefits
The compensation for this position ranges from $90,000 to $110,000 annually, in addition to a comprehensive benefits package.
