Work Environment

Key Responsibilities
Direct and implement physical therapy interventions designed to prevent disability, alleviate pain, and enhance overall muscle function for clients, tailored to their specific treatment plans.
Supervise and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants in the execution of therapies, ensuring compliance with established care protocols.
Conduct comprehensive evaluations of clients' functional capabilities using diagnostic tests to assess muscle strength, nerve function, and joint mobility.
Assess the safety and readiness of home environments for rehabilitation, providing recommendations for adaptations that encourage client independence.
Deliver in-home physical therapy services, as directed by medical professionals, that include manual therapeutic techniques, exercise regimes, functional activities, and other therapeutic interventions.
Administer modalities such as traction and massage, and utilize physical agents to promote patient healing and comfort.
Evaluate, fit, and adjust assistive devices, working closely with physicians to suggest modifications as warranted.
Participate actively in patient care planning and case conferences, contributing to interdisciplinary discussions that inform treatment strategies.
Document client progress meticulously, preparing evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with organizational standards.
Provide education to clients and their families on exercise regimens and the effective use of physical therapy equipment to ensure success outside of therapy sessions.
Patient Population / Client Focus
This role is specifically tailored to serve patients with orthopedic conditions requiring rehabilitation in the comfort of their homes. You will work with a diverse patient demographic, including seniors, post-operative recovery patients, and individuals with chronic mobility issues. Your role will focus on understanding their physical limitations and tailoring therapy plans that enhance their overall independence and comfort.
Qualifications
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree.
Current, valid PT licensure in Virginia, with a strong emphasis on maintaining good standing throughout your tenure.
Minimum of one year of experience as a physical therapist in either acute care or home healthcare settings.
Current CPR certification to ensure patient safety in emergency situations.
A valid driver's license and auto insurance, enabling efficient travel between client locations.
Strong clinical acumen accompanied by a commitment to providing exemplary care and fostering patient dignity.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with patients and their families.
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a collaborative team while adapting to dynamic patient needs.
Preferred Experience
Experience in the home healthcare environment, particularly with orthopedic patient populations.
Proficiency in electronic medical record keeping and knowledge of relevant state healthcare regulations.
Leadership experience in mentoring less experienced staff or interns.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 90,000 to USD 100,000 annually, reflective of your experience and qualifications.
